The Finnish Stuttering Association (FSA) was founded in 1969.

The main objects of FSA are to promote the contacts between stutterers, to relieve the life of stuttering people and to take care of their interests. Thus the most important activities of FSA are:

  • Communication between stutterers (meetings, self-help groups, periodical Puheen vuoro and information letters to the members).
  • Promoting stuttering therapy courses for children and adults
  • Information activities (eg. The International Stuttering Awareness Day 22.10.) and co-operation with other handicap organizations, speech therapists and international stuttering organizations.

The association counts about 500 members.
